After my first pregnancy I had gained a lot of weight and my wedding band didn't fit so I got it resized larger. Now that I've started losing the weight my ring is getting too big. Should I wait until I'm down to the size I want to be and get it resized smaller? Or should I have my husband buy me a new wedding band and keep my orginal one at the bigger size, in case I gain the weight back or to wear when my fingers are swollen during my next pregnancy?

what a lovely problem!! why not get him to buy you an eternity ring/. think positive, dont assume you're going to put weight on again... get the ring sized if its your original... or wear it on a chain around your neck if you really dont want to part with it and he can splash out on a new one xxxx

Wedding rings last forever - at least yellow gold ones do. Don't get a second ring - stick with the original. Of course, you should never have resized the ring, lots of pregnant women just either don't wear it, or wear it on a chain. I would resize it to your regular size - and then don't do that any more - it's weakening the gold and the structure. You are not pregnant more time than you are pregnant, so when you get pregnant, just do as I suggested.

During your pregnancy and the temporary period following, remove your rings and wear them on a chain around your neck. If you want, get a similar "fake" ring in a larger size on your finger.

Your real rings, if made from quality gold/silver/platinum, should last you a lifetime, but if you're constantly resizing them every time you gain/lose weight, they might last as long.

Why all the resizing? When I was pregnant I wore my wedding rings around my neck on a pretty chain.

Talk to a jeweler about your specific ring. Some rings can be sized while others can not. My wedding band can't be sized due to the engraving while my wife's can only go up or down one size due to the setting.

well i think that is all up to you as in a personal preference.
I myself would always want to wear my oringinal first band regardless0therefore i would have the sz adjusted when ever needed, however i am not sure but i believe doing this off and on may weaken the band where it may be apt to break-unless it is a pretty thick diameter.
I know they have things that can be inserted inside the ring to make it fit if it is too large so you may want think about that as another option. just my thoughts

First. Get down to your desired weight. Or better yet down to your husbands recommended weight for you. It will make him much more happy if you are not chubby. I bet he will be proud to 'bring you out' again. I'd buy you a new ring so he probably would too. You are, at least, worth a new ring. Try and get down to a size 5 ring at least. Keep the old ring and if the old BIG ring ever fits again I'd take a hike.
Hint: Keep a lid on your appetite. Food is the reason for fat. Pure and simple math. Good Luck..

get an insert for it, that will keep it on your finger, and you can still wear it next time you have a baby
