Now that is a great question........
My Father-In-Law's father (My wife's grandfather) became a fingerprint expert in the 1940's when a local ammunition plant exploded. The investigation centered on German sabotage.
He became involved in the investigation and his role morphed into becoming a fingerprint expert for the State.
When my Father-In-Law was dating my Mother-In-Law, the Grandfather would let my Father-In-Law borrow the car. But he would tell them not to open the trunk as there was a body-part in the trunk. Usually a severed arm or hand.
Grandpa wasn't kidding either. There actually would be an arm or hand in the trunk as part of an investigation.
So they took his advice and never opened the trunk.
