What does RAW stand for? *seen it on youtube anime videos and on scans of manga and such* I know that it means that it's not translated or subtitled or anything, but what does RAW exactly stand for? Or does it mean 'raw', literally? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

No, no its not a dumb question ^^. Raw doesnt exactly stand for anything in particular. Its just saying that the manga/anime is at its raw state, it hasnt been modified. Err.. Let me compare this to.. Steak! Yeah, steak! Once steak has been gotten from a cow, it is raw because nothing has been done to it. Same with the anime/manga, no modifications cause its at its original blagh state. Then, once the steak is cooked it becomes.. Er.. Regular steak! Same with the anime/manga, once its been 'translated' (or cooked) it becomes the regular manga/anime. I know i just screwed up the explaination with the cooking part XD

Try wikipedia .com it gives the whole Story of how RAW came about , it says nothing of Real American Wrestling , it talks about how raw was started and became raw is war , then they changed it back to just raw ..

genuine American Wrestling or genuine action Wrestling,there is not any historic past of what raw Stands For even if the catchphrase replaced into raw IS conflict in the previous. in case you examine it backwards it says "conflict" and they use to have a catchphrase, "raw IS conflict
