In my state, it's 11, but it depends on the children who are being watched and the maturity level of the babysitter. I would never have a babysitter younger than 16 unless it was someone I knew VERY well, and it would only be for a short time, and it was older children (3 & up).

But, I began babysitting at 11 and I did just fine. Sometimes younger sitters are nice because they are more likely to play with your kids. They're also great if you want someone to watch the kids while you are home--like to do work, take a nap, etc.

I would say probably 14. but I guess it all depends on the parents of the kid you are baby sitting and also the age of the child. You should be older to baby sit a newborn/small baby but older kids are pretty easy to take care of. :)

It depends on who your babysitting. I started baby sitting for my sister when i was 11. I started baby sitting for younger children at about 13. It all depends also on your maturity level.

I would prefer someone older, or someone I have known for a long time. I think at least 13 if I had to give a number. My neice watched my son when she was 12 and she was amazing with him. I was 10 when I sat for my sister. I would try to find someone you know rather that worrying to much about age.

I don't think age matters as much as maturity. I do not know legally though, what states carry what laws about that. I took care of people when I was 10 years old.

Old enough and responsible enough for the parents to trust you. I wouldn't consider a sitter younger than 13.

depends on who ur babysiting for. if ur like 11-12 u could probably babysit for ur siblings or cousins (11 would probably be too young) but other people like neighbors or just other people u dont really know would want older like 13-& up.
