All the promises made, all the bluster. All the kiddies on here talking about how things are going to be different. They aren't, the Dems cannot put together a majority, when they are the majority. The war continues, the funding continues and the senators and reps continue to lie and prosper. Why is this? Don't tell me Democrats lie? Oh my what a revelation!

I've been trying to tell people this from the beginning. Things aren't going to be any different once the Democrats got into office. They coerced people to vote for them knowing that people weren't smart enough to realize that it's the president's decision to withdraw our troops, not Congress. This is something they did not mention when they were rallying up support to win the elections. Since they've been in office, they have done nothing but debate, for weeks on end about non binding resolutions that will accomplish nothing. And people think I was stupid and fooled into voting for and supporting President Bush? Yeah, I'm stupid for supporting a president that is doing what I voted for him to do. How can I be so stupid.

Actually, the Democrats have a slight majority in Congress, but not enough to override a veto. With Bush as the Pres, we can't get any new legislation through, but he can't either. It's deadlock unless both sides compromise or find common ground. But that seems hopeless.
At least Bush can't push any more ridiculous, reactionary legislation through.

There was no great change coming. The 2006 election was all about Bush; it had nothing to do with the "direction" the Democrats wanted to take the country, because we all know what that direction is and the country has rejected it time and time again.
