You will need to get a router that connects to your high speed internet connection. You have a choice as to what kind of router you want. You can get a wireless or a wired router.

A wired router, will need to be close to your Tivo. An ethernet cable will need to run from your router to your Tivo. You will also need an ethernet to USB adapter, to plug into one of your tivo's USB ports.

A wireless router, could be placed in virtually any room in your house. You would also need a wireless USB adapter to connect to your tivo's USB port. Any other question, just ask..

If by using no longer cable or satellite tv for pc you recommend antenna, antenna isn't supported on that form in any respect. There are workarounds, yet they are fiddly and grant much less channels than a DVR that top helps antenna. That TiVo could artwork on on maximum pay carriers that have a container that has A/V out and IR distant administration. *The sequence 2 DT lacks antenna help by way of an FCC regulation requiring units made after a definite element could have a digital tuner if it has an analog antenna tuner. by using making the tuner cable purely, TiVo skirted that rule. TiVo desperate to no longer tempt destiny and disregarded converter container help from that form, by way of fact it by no ability supported antenna to start with. Your functional strategies for antenna are to get an older sequence 2 TiVo (in case you have different than Product Lifetime on your latest TiVo), which completely helps converter containers, improve to between the HD TiVo fashions (which internally can music digital antenna), or a non TiVo gadget to checklist from a converter, or has a digital tuner geared up in. A available option IMO, in case you have a good adequate laptop, is to get a twin ATSC tuner card.

Hi Martha,

I am not sure what you want to do. DSL is an Internet connection. Your TiVO is a TV signal recorder. Your TiVO should be connected to your cable or TV antenna.

If you mean that your primary telephone line is also a DSL line, you just connect a telephone line from your TIVO to any telephone outlet. You should use one of the filters that AT&T provided so that you don't mess up your computer's DSL connection.
