Hi, everyone. I plan on moving to one of these 2 cities, which one is better, since I'll be raising my 3 children there and I don't know the area.
Which one has a lower crime rate, and a better school district.
It seems to me like if Brownwood is in the Middle of No where, by looking at the maps.
Also how much are houses in those 2 areas.
Thanks in advance everyone.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WICH CITIES ARE SAFER AROUND THIS 2 AREAS

I haven't been to both places but here's what I've read about them ----------

Weatherford - about 30 minutes west of Forth Worth
pop. (2006) - 24,000 (predominantly white)
a very historic town - town slogan "growing with tradition"
school overall rating - academically acceptable
no. of schools K-6 (7), 7-8 (2) and 9-12 (2)

Brownwood - about 140 miles from Austin
pop. (2000) - 19,000 (predominantly white)
town slogan - "feels like home..."
school overall rating - academically acceptable
no. of schools K-3 (3), 4 (1), 5-6 (1), 7-8 (1) and 9-12 (1)

peace and order situation - must be quiet; I don't hear about them in the news

housing - anywhere in TX, it's cheap (more correctly, affordable)

Personal Preference: Weatherford. I love the fact that it's a historic place and its nearness to Forth Worth (big city, lots of conveniences) is a big plus.

Welcome to Texas!

Great site for general info about cities and towns: Sperlings Best Places - http://www.bestplaces.net/

It allows you to search for almost any city/town in almost any state. Gives you stats on crime, cost of living, voting patterns, population, weather, etc.

Remember, Texas is a BIG state, and that these towns are a hundred + miles apart!
