I heard that it stands for emotional but anybody could be an emo which doesn't make any sence because then why do we have labels? I'm confused about emo and goth. HELP!

an emo is a person who has a dark DARK cloud hanging over them they are lonely, scared of the world, and EVIL PURE EVIL just like u r....lol..jk jk jk...

emo does mean emotional, but a lot of people tend to blow it out of proportion. a lot of it stems from music, at least it does where i live. all the emo kids i know started listening to fallout boy, and then suddenly they were emo. now it discribes about 75% of the kids in my area.
goth is a lifestyle. there is more to it than just wearing black and listening to a certain kind of music. its about learning to take the bad with the good in life, and acknowlegeing that there is stuff in this world that needs improving. there is the music and the dark and all that, but you will find a lot of goths are actually very happy people. a lot of people may associate goth with satan and other negitive things, but in a lot of cases, those are just negitive stereotypes. yeah, it is true sometimes, but it is just a sterotype when you lump all goths into one big heap and say "you are all devil worshipers". i personally know a lot of very religious goths who go to church every sunday just like everybody else. for me, the black clothes are what is comfortable to me, i LOVE the music, and the lifestyle is very beautiful. my fiance and i are having a goth-and-roll wedding and it is going to be geourgous, lots of dark reds and purples and blacks.
do a little research online, just keep an eye out for stereotypes.

An emo person is someone who is emotional but wants attention, because they feel that they world hates them! Because everyone is out to get them, and it is annoying!

first of all.. being an emo isn't bad at all... people's who changed into an emo i think were peoples who had hatred in them.. they tried to be rebels.. now about emo rockers they were the ones who expresses their feelings in a different way.. other people judge the song bcoz of its loud, messy sound but don't judge the book by its cover.. some emo songs are so bad in your ears but if you listen to the message it will show the feelings of the composer.. i am an emo... looking back at my past sucks... i hate myself...

Emo is emotional. They are the whiners of the world. All the do is talk about suicide and cutting and other stuff. Anyone sick enough to cut themselves deserves to be hated
