Is was a silent movie. He's old enough and "was" a member of the KKK and last year used the "N" word in a statement that was carried on most fair and balanced news stations.

No, of course not. Roberty Byrd WAS a member of the KKK during the 1940's but has since apologized and denounced his previous involvement and white supremacy in general. "The Birth of a Nation" was released in 1915; Byrd was born in 1917. As a result, he was not old enough to be in the movie.
