YES OF COURSE!! im a big arguer on this one. I'll give in as many details as I can. Well first off, girls not being able to check makes people think they are weak. Right now in our society, having them looking weak isnt good. We are actually very strong (well..the hockey players at least). I was told we can't check because our bones will break easily..but they say it as if we are getting hit by a guy. But thats the thing..were not..we are getting hit by GIRLS around our height and weight, so there can't be much damage done. It keeps them tough, and actually i think it is quite fun checking. I cant think of a reason why we shouldnt be able too..and either way we always end up hitting each other anyways. We do have all the protective equipment on..and basically..girls have just as much chance as getting injured on a girls team as boys do on a boys team.

Most definitely!!!
Girls are just as capable as handling checks as boys are. Checking makes the game sooo much more fun (I've played in both girls and boys teams). If you teach the girls to hit from the time they're little, they'll be just as capable of doing it as the boys!

heck yeah. i play hockey and sometimes getting to the puck means having to "bump" someone which i would call a check. people do it anyway so why not make it official?!

sure why not, they obviously chose hockey for a reason, if they didn't want a contact sport they would play softball or basketbal
o, and 1994 guy (first answerer) you cant be racist against gender, its either called predjudice against gender, or sexist
