One was built by the Russians and the East Germans to keep its citizens from leaving the country.

The other if built, will be built by the United States to keep the degenerates from another country from entering illegally.

The similarities are:

1. They are both fairly vertical structures.
2. A boundary is formed where one side is a land of greater opportunity and charity.

The differences include:
1. The US and Mexico are two separate sovereign nations.
2. The Berlin Wall was built to prevent the permanent movement of all people to freedom, while the proposed fence is to regulate the movement of people to emmigrate on an orderly, lawful basis.
3. East Berlin was a part of communist state who treated people so badly that they wanted to leave permanently. Mexico is a place where people can return and live well on the relatively high wages they get from the US. Without the fence, they can get their tuberculosis treated for free by money that you and I paid in, thus causing the collapse of all border hospitals. They can "launder" a child by illegally crossing, and having the baby here so that it becomes a US citizen. Unregulated, they can also steal social security numbers and get the social security you and I paid in so that one day no elderly can get the safety net that was intended for them. They can get credit cards from many banks now, and not pay their debts so that you get to pay those debts. They can get driver's licenses in some places and cause your death or injury without any insurance so that our insurance industry collapses.

The Berlin Wall was built by the oppressor, and the fence is being built by the oppressed. The fence is an effort to keep our country from being destroyed.

The similarities is the physical deterrent along parts of a border separating two countries, to keep migrants from Mexico from entering the United States.
The differences is that the Communist regime (Russian authority) policed/maintained the Berlin wall and segregated the Germans into an East and West bloc. It was one country subjugating another country, effecting control over liberties, economic development, rehabilitation and choice of government.

The Berlin Wall was built by the Soviets to keep East Germans from fleeing to the West. The fence is being built by the US to protect its own border to keep illegals out, not keep its own citizens in.

I'm for something like the Berlin Wall being built on our Mexican Border. I'm not against immigration.....don't get me wrong. But do it legally. My real concern is that if a family of 5 can just waltz across our borders without any problems, then so can a well financed terrorist group.

None. The Berlin Wall was built to keep legal people in. The border fence is to keep illegal people out.

The Berlin Wall became outfitted and used as an emblem to maintain the East Berliners from seeing the West. the version is this: The Soviets did no longer enable under any situations for East Berliners to immigrate west. the US helps people to immigrate right here, yet you won't have the ability to wreck the regulation doing it! there's a large distinction.

None - ZERO!

The Berlin wall was built by evil people trying to lock down their society

The U.S. border fence is being built to keep millions of foreign people from illegally entering our country to live off the backs of Americans by having babies on U.S. soil and then stealing identities of legal citizens and working while not paying taxes.
