My boyfriend used to work on road construction for 5 yrs with Mexicans. In the heat and humidity of summer here in Kansas they would all wear long sleeves and drapes on their heads to cover their necks and such. They burn very easily and are not affected by the heat as many of us are. Indians are the same I beleive. I know this is true cuz the few that could speak english,,we asked. They laughed,,,,but this was their answer.

In the areas where it is dry heat full sleeve makes us comfortable. However where it is hot and humid certainly long sleeve irritates more. And I wear half sleeve both as formal and casual dress.
