Is it true that the only way you can get music on an ipod is through itunes, or can you put the songs from your cd's and real player music library on it?

Kind of you have to import cd music, internet music files into itunes first. Go to my music>itunes>itunes music then make a new folder in there. When you get new music off of the internet or somewhere else drag the music in this folder. Then open itunes and go to file>import file to library. Choose the songs you want and they will be in your library. Drag the songs you just added to your playlist. Sync your ipod and they will be on there. If you are importing music from a cd put the cd in your computer, open the cd in itunes and drag the music from the cd to a playlist. Hope this helps.

Yes and No. You have to use iTunes to put the media on you iPod. But you can also use iTunes to rip a CD or import your other music files.

Think of iTunes as the middle man.

Well, as long as the songs are mp3 format it really doesn't matter where they from, but you do need iTunes to the songs into the iPod.

Cheers!
