I have a lcd pc monitor and in need of an extra tv and don't really want to pay 300 for one the same size as the extra monitor i have so can i buy some kind of converter that has a serial monitor cable input and a video cable on the other end so i can connect it to the cable box? forget about audio i know a stereo on aux hooked to the cablebox can work for that or a surround sound system i dont mind spending money on for my livingroom and moving my cheap stereo into the bedroom with this monitor so please PC experts help!

I do not want to use a pc to watch tv on the pc monitor i just want to be able to hook the video to it and to a cable box and use a stereo aux for sound so other then pc cards or expensive game systems any ideas?

correction i am trying to connect a pc monitor with a sgva serial male port to a cablevision cable box via anything ! thanks :D

you can by a pc card and put that in the pc ... that will conncet up the tv to the pc or the vhs/dvd recorder combo or ps2 or ps3 that card is about $50 vto $60
