My gf is on birth control. She had a light period, and missed one of her pills. Now in the middle of the pills she started another heavier period without cause or provocation. Does this mean that she's going to be pregnant???

No very unlikely. The fact that she is having a period now is strong proof that she is not pregnant. If she misses a pill it is smart to take 1 as soon as she remembers and then take the pill for that day 12 hours later with food. Best regards!

Anytime a woman is on birth control pills they have to stick to a strict schedule of taking them. If your girlfriend missed a day of the pill and then after she took them again she got a heavier period it is most likely due to the hormone imbalance. Break through bleeding is definately possible when a woman is not consistent with taking the pill. Not trying to advocate certain types of birth control...but, Nuva Ring is good if she doesn't want the hassle of taking a pill everyday. The chances of her being pregnant though are slim...not impossible; but, very slim. She's most likely just suffering from breakthrough bleeding from missing a pill.

Stranger things have happened. If she actually missed more than one pill, or if she is on the light pills, the chance is increased. It could also be a hormone imbalance. Get a pregnancy test and find out for sure before spending a lot of time worrying.

It is possible, my best friend just called me telling me she's pregnant even though she's been on the pill for 5 years. She missed a pill on jan 21st. She is a nurse also, so yes it is very possible.

maybe you need to take some parenting classes to see when a woman can and cannot get pregnant...it might enlighten you...the pill is not 100% effective...she was told that when prescribed to her..and yes she can be pregnant...just because her period done that does not mean she is not pregnant...you two need to do some reading ...research...something before we have to pay for another welfare baby.....thanks for asking ...good luck

It could mean she was pregnant and is not having a miscarriage, she needs to see a doctor.
