Oh my gosh I love A Tree Grows In Brooklyn as well. My favorite genre for books is coming of age classics. My favorites books would have to be The Chosen by Chaim Potock, The Oustiders by S.E. Hinton, A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks, and of course A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.

Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell wins the honor, hands down. At 1024 pages, it's blissfully long (a blessing for a speed-reader like me) and absolutely epic. But blast the length - I was hooked from the very first page by Scarlett O'Hara's gloriously selfish attitude. A Pulitzer-Prize winning, historical (it's set in the time of the American Civil War) romance like this isn't something one comes across every day. Now, I'm heart-broken over the fact that I've finished it and I've got nothing exciting (in terms of literature) to look forward to.

PS I've read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, too. I vageuly remember it as very good, kind of like the nice taste that good food leaves in your mouth a couple of hours afterwards. Unfortunately, GWTW has eclipsed its memory so I've little to offer on that subject

If you like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, then you might like this also. It's one of the Oprahs book club pics.

Hey

I dont really read books, but last year in 10th grade we had to read the book "LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI"

We were meant to read only one chapter but I ended up reading the whole thing!

The book was so addivtive and it was the type of book that all teenagers would want to read!

I even watched the movie to extend my kowledge about the book, and I got good marks in class because I knew so much about the book!

Anywayz I better go now or else I'll end up writing my life stories! lol!

Take care bye =)
