I think they can help but in order you need to file a police report and send it to them. Only then can they really assist with unless you have the accidental warranty on it not sure if that covers it though. I wish you the best cause that really stinks.

Unless you have some tracking software installed on your laptop, and the one who stole it is on the internet, then no there is no way to track it.
Th IP address of your laptop will change when it logs into the internet from different locations and/or different survice providers.

I am sorry to hear that .. well i am sorry to say you that there is no option to tack your laptop.. but in furture.. u can get it highly secure.. with the BIOS password.. and CMOS password if at all you lost the laptop no one can get it in to your computer.. untill and unless they wount get in touch with the laptop vendor.. then u can able to get it track... but now a days in new laptop there is one technology where u can install the sim card and u can able to no .. its avail in dell xps.. ok .. if u have further query u can get back to me thanks...

Yes, it does.
It means that you didn't have the gps tracker in place.
If you did, it'd have been tracked and the culprits apprehended.
All you can do, now, is to claim the insurance, if you have it.
