Do not buy any shoes yet! wait til you get your actual job there!! Some jobs require all black or all white shoes, but you wont find out til orientation!

I suggest Uggs, or padded shoes. I have a job where i'm standing all day every day, and i wear uggs to work and my feet don't hurt at all!
Padded shoes may also work as long as they are comfortable, and maybe squishy. I have flipflops that i go shopping in constantly, and my feet are very comfortable and do not ache at all.
Running shoes are very good for it, as long as they're not brand new or not comfortable. I suggest, worn shoes that your feet have "molded" into.
I DO NOT suggest things like clogs, sandals, flilpflops...etc. They are very uncomfortable for things like this especially if you have to run quickly to complete errands.
Another source of comfortable feet is burkenstock. DO NOT go for the fake kind, they are NOT comfortable and do not mold to your feet at all. Real burkenstock are expensive for a reason. They are oh-so comfortable and mold to your feet perfectly so that it feels as if you are walking on clouds.
Always make sure that your shoes are comfortable and fit perfectly so that your feet will be comfortable and painless at all times.

I think the fabric ballet flats are comfortable. they are some that are almost slip ons. These shoes are available at the gap, kohls and marshalls. the most variety ive seen is @ gap. ( all types leather, denim, fabric etc. are sold there)
kohls has the softest easiest to move around with.
* if you are tired of walking you can effortlessly glide with these ballet flats at kohls and co.
(literally they are flat and would only fall off if a person were running.
* since these shoes are flat you prolly wont add pain to your ankles. it wont make a difference but they wont but pressure on them
hope you find a comfortable pair of shoes.
good luck with the search
if you have a local dsw store ask the employees for help !

Traditionally Asics Gel are known to be the most comfortable sneakers becaused they are designed for various activities. Lately I've been hearing from many people (mostly female) that the slide on Crocs are very comfortable.

Dansko brand might be good for you. You can check them out @ www.dansko.com or www.zappos.com.
I have a friend in corporate sales and she swears by them. They come in lots of cute styles.
Earth shoes are another brand to consider. I like their Mary Janes which have a bit of a funky edge. (www.earthshoes.com or www.zappos.com)

You might want to ask your doctor. There are a lot of companies out there that specialize in shoes for people with medical needs such as yours.

Can you please give us more details about your activity? Are you interacting with people? Are you running around? Did you notice any specific dress code around people already working there?
