Get small packs of each to find which brand works best for you. I would only buy Huggies for my first, because they were the only brand that would hold her. They didn't work at all for my second, and they are both girls. Don't limit yourself to just the name brands, either. Some store brands are just as good at half the price.

Well, it's something better understood by experience/trial and error than described, but my experience has been:
Huggies--terrible preemie diapers, great for normal diapers, stopped using when baby got to active and switched to Pampers Cruisers which stayed on better for an active walking climbing baby. Pampers preemie diapers were good, too. I currently use Luvs during the day and Huggies for overnight. The luvs are less expensive and fine for day time, but don't hold it all overnight. They run small; my son wears a 5 in luvs but a four in huggies. That's my 2 cents :)

My daughter is now 4. When she was born only 1 brand carried diapers in newborn sizes. Now almost all brands do. Stick with luvs, huggies or pampers. The cheaper brands I've heard is kind of like you get what you pay for. I started out with huggies, and didn't change her through the night since that's supposed to make it too hard for them to go back to sleep and she'd soak through by morning using huggies so we switched to pampers baby dry and had no problems after that. Pampers makes swaddlers and cruisers and baby dry, they're all just cut differently so it's a matter of preference of what you think your baby would be most comfortable in. When it comes to training pants I didn't notice much difference in absorption but I like huggies better b/c of the velcro sides in case of accidents and/or false alarms.

My baby is 4 months old and I really like the Luvs. We tired Pampers and Huggies and they are ok, but I could always smell pee all the time when he was in them. I switched to the Luvs and It holds the odor better. When he still had the cord on his belly I really like the Huggies that has the top of the diaper cut out so you don't have to fold them down. It's kinda trial and error when it comes to diapers and babies!! Good Luck!!

I have a four month old i prefer using pampers. i think it is a better brand. but huggies has a diaper for newborns that will not cover the umbilical cord so i used until the cord fell off. I did receive a box of huggies as a gift and i used them i could smell the pee through them. that's why i don't like them.

It is really a preference. I found I liked Pampers the best, I felt they held better than any of the others. And also when my girls were first born that is what people bought me so I kept using them. I tried some others but still liked Pampers the best.

I only got Pampers when my son was born. By the time he was 2 months I got sick of paying the money and decided to try the cheap brands. They work just as well. Walmart has a cheap brand that is half the price of brand names.

I have tried pampers, luvs, huggies and a cheap kind my husband brought home. I found huggies fit best and are not bulky and do'nt leak near as much as the others.

I love huggies, I had tried pampers but I had lots of leaking experience with them. So now I only buy huggies.
