Part of this question was to see who could actally comprehend the statement "Only those that oppose please"
If it is to protest Bush and the war on terror, and the protesters say they support the troops, do you think it should be held at the park across from the White House instead of at the Pentagon, the H.Q.'s of the troops. Does it make sense to you?

To those that say they can protest anywhere they like. Will you also be at Arlington National Cemetery?

I oppose the protest of our troops - period. They are called upon to do a job and they are doing it. Do you protest the police officer that saves your life or the fireman that saves your home? Our military is voluntary and everyone enlisted is there because they signed a contract and agreed to be there. Thank God that we have soldiers willing to volunteer. If the soliders were defending the United States on our soil - would anyone be protesting them? I say protest the issues and not the military.

Okay ....Someguy. Have you heard about the people from Kansas that are protesting the military at funeral services of our service men?

I agree, if they are going to protest, do it where it will have the most impact. I think that protesting is a complete waste of time. History tells us that protesting a war doesn't really work, just look back at the 60's and 70' when everyone was protesting the Vietnam War.

And if these people are supporting our troops, then they need to support the person who is in charge of all of the troops, The President (the Commander and Chief of the armed forces), or are they so into this cause that they lost sight of that? The Pentagon doesn't really care, the White House will care, or just try to shut them up. I think the White House would have the most impact.

Sigh.. .My thumb is sore from pointing down !

As a Veteran, I will say that although I do not support this 'protest', I do support their right to do so . Having said that, I believe that the Whitehouse or the grounds nearby are a more suitable and appropriate location .

The confusion within the minds of these protesters is that our troops are Volunteers, not drafted enlistees like Viet Nam . So the result is, that they are protesting the PERSONAL DECISIONS of our troops to fight for our country . Therein lies the difference . Couple that with the fact that we are showing very good signs of success in Iraq right now . And that FACT should MATTER to them, but it doesn't . FACTS never seem to matter with people who are either brain-washed or hellbent on the destruction of our great country !!!!

BTW, I posted a Q about this yesterday . Included in my question was some history about when Liberals protested in 1967 . One guy, Abbie Hoffman, said he was going to magically LEVITATE the Pentagon . LMAO . He thought they could all chant and the Pentagon would levitate as a result . Anyway, most answerers thought that was pretty crazy, even the liberal answerers . but one guy claimed that they were gonna do it this time too !! And then he claimed it would work !!
I thank that confused, insolent subversive for exposing the mentality of what it takes to protest your own troops !!

Look at the answers above mine and you will realize that thought is not a process familiar to these people.

I am a veteran and wish I could have taken time off from my current job to be there and oppose the protesters and protect the memorials like so many of my brothers and sisters are. God Bless America and God Bless our troops!

Very very few troops have ever been in the pentagon. So frankly , it doesn't matter that they protest there. Most of the troops will tell you that agree or disagree one of the reasons they're fighting is to protect the people's right to protest.

I guess theres a two-way thing about that. 1) You are right, it would make much more sense. 2) The commanders are at the Pentagon, along with military officials, and people high in the government. Plus Bush is going to notice people outside the Pentagon just as much as people outside the White House.

I wasn't aware that some people are "protesting the troops". Who does that? There are people who oppose sending in more troops into Iraq, and that is made up of the majority of Americans.

Stop being a typical Republican and twisting the truth. They are not protesting the Troops. They are protesting this war and the Bush Administrations failed policies.
