How many of you saw or heard about Hagels press conferance to announce that he would make an announcement at a later date?
Why do you think he did that. Made all the hub bub about the conferance and then said nothing?
Personally I think it was to make a little noise and get his name out there a little more....I would have choosen a different way though.

It's still early in the race, and why wouldn't he allow the other right wing candidates to get discredited first. I think he is using his head by distancing himself from Bushco.

Hagel made a calculated decision to defy this president in order to gain political momentum as the 'anti war Republican'.
He WAS going to make a big announcment, but guess what...no one cares.
So he decided to slink off, lick his wounds and try again later.
Here's a clue, Chuck...no one will care then either.

I'd like to announce that I will eventually announce something.
I think you are right in your assumption that Hagel just wanted the publicity. Ultimately it makes him look like a dork.
