I highly recommend the free TaxACT offer at http://freetax.mortgageous.com/ - they're a reliable company and preparation, e-filing, and printing a standard federal return are all totally free, regardless of income level.

I especially like that they guarantee the accuracy of your return or they pay all of the penalties, and they have free support if you get stuck.

But please, whatever you do, avoid rapid refund "services" like the plague. Rapid refunds are nothing more than very expensive short-term loans designed to scam you out of even more of your hard-earned money. The interest rate can be as high as 500% and the fees are very high too. Wait a few weeks longer for the government to give you your refund, or if necessary, apply for a short-term, unsecured loan with your bank.

I did with my with Turbo Tax for the first time ever this year (had previously used accountants).

It was a breeze to use, cost a third of what it cost me last year to file, I got a nice fat refund in about a week.

I have used QuickTax for the last few years. It is simple to use, just plug in the info from your t4's and any expenses you claim (child care, medical etc.) and anything else...and you can netfile it. I had my refund within a week. You can download the program online and file right away. I will continue to use it....

I done mine with taxslayer.com and got it back within 7 or 8 days. It only costs 9.95 for state and federal.
