No, poltiically speaking Saddam was like Hitler, both were fascists. Mahmoud Ahmadenijhad is somewhat unique. He capitalizes on anti-American tensions like Hugo Chavez, but domestically is quite hated.

Based on the turnouts of the last Iranian elections, I would say that it is quite likely he will be..'fired'.. when the next executive election rolls around.

It's my understanding he actually, truly, believes that it's his calling from God to bring about Armageddon - if anyone is going to bring about World War 3, it's that guy.

...and what's with him spouting "peace and love" on his blog and in his Mike Wallace interview, and then going to that Holocaust denial conference and talking about how all the Zionist regimes will fall? That is very Hitler-like if you ask me.

Mad? for what? for trying to keep his country an independant one and not letting it getting under the command of US governament?

Hitler? how many countires has he attacked and killed peoples there? Bush is holding a credit of killing 50,00,000 peoples in Iraq and Afghanistan ,if he is not been called a hitler, there is no question of calling Ahmadinejad as hitler !!

He is a person who is trying to keep his country safe from foreign rule..........and he is just is this......its US which is imposing war on them ! they can't dare to pick it on their own as they know they have Iraq and Israel in their neighbours who are their enemies , how can they dare to wage a war agaisn US which is 100 times more powerful than Them.........I m sure Irani president also love his kids and his peoples and he does not want war himself but ofcourse can not present his country in plate to US !

He is a nut....

Here is the bottom line...right from his own mouth:

He wants to bring about the end of the world and push the Jews "into the sea" and then his "God" will come back and rule the world under Islamic law. He will then get his 70 virgins for being a martyr.

How the hell do you negotiate with a NUT like that?

He's the perfect counterpart to Bush, and doesn't represent his people either.

Edit: He didn't take part in the '79 incident, look at his nose! Now look at the tape from 1979, can't be the same person!

My impression has remained the same since I saw him on TV in the 1970s holding a gun to an American hostage's head in the US embassy. He should have his head smashed in.
