I already looked at a Chevy Tahoe and a Ford Expedition, I can't afford them, though. I have kids so I need something for them to grow in. Thanks!

Not an SUV, but the Dodge Caravan, probably the best vehicle for your money, and fairly relable. They have quite a bit of rear seat room too. They are quite peppy too. You can pick up a new one for about $18 000CDN (in my area) and one thats a few years old for about half that. I see these things outlasting most SUVs, aside from the explorer (with 4L). Unless you have your mind set on getting an SUV, don't rule a van out. Probably your best bet for an SUV would be an Explorer/Mountaneer, Dorango, Tahoe/Yukon.

Have a look at Dodge Durango. Not much cheaper than your mentioned models, but a little, and has good second and third row seats. Honda Pilot is also good.
