As always, depends in large part what your interests are and what you want to do. However, here are some general suggestions.

1) I agree with Captain about the Astoria area! Weatherwise, it doesn't much matter what time of year you visit Astoria, so you might as well do so in April! Astoria is nestled at the foot of mountains, along the Columbia river, a few miles from the Ocean, at the extreme Northwest edge of Oregon. Fort Clatsop is nearby, where Lewis and Clark wintered during their expedition. Astoria is also the filming site for movies including Kindergarten Cop, Short Circuit and the Goonies, and is very scenic and picturesque.

2) Another good spot for an April visit would be Sisters, just east of the Cascade Range in central Oregon. It's an artsy touristy resort town and fun to visit, and near skiing if the weather cooperates.

3) Portland as always has much to offer, in the way of Museums, Galleries, Clubs and the like.

The Oregon Coast is always fun to visit and I wouldn't miss Fort Clatsop (but I'm big on Lewis and Clark).

Lots of other places, too. Check out:
