The Kennedy's the Rockefeller's the Bush's the Gore's the Clinton's the Bayh's the Levin's the Dole's and even more... All those families have had people elected to office not because they were qualified, but because of their last names. It seems that the US is getting "royal" families; that is, our elected officials have to have a relative in politics, just like the old days in England. A seat in the House of Lords in England is inherited, sort of like Gore from his father, Kennedy from his brother, Bush from his father and so on... Didn't we have a president who said we have a government of the people, by the people, for the people?

There might be real advantages from having a good last name, but work hard and have the tallent and you can do anything in this country.

The only "royal" family left is the Kennedy's.

Clinton, Dole, Bush, Levin, and Bayh - those family's are waay low on the social scale. Not to mention money

Rockefeller - old money, not as much influence as they had.

Unfortunately, only folks that can raise at least $30 Million will have a chance of being elected President.

Of course. The Bushes, Clintons, Kennedys. All think the White House is rightfully theirs. Don't know who the Bayhes are, or which Levins you mean. (I know lots of Levins.) I don't think the Doles are a dynasty, at least not to the extent of the other three.

those behind the scenes pulling political string are as close to Kings as can be, they are the king makers. For names look at the boards of the big 47 US corporations the same names often sit at more than 1 board. they make or break politicians. they are our aristocracy.
