Who isn't?

Gee, I should be ashamed of myself. A prospective English literature major, still enamored with Harry Potter books? Fie on me! But even now, floating in the lofty heights of Thomas Hardy and all the rest, I can't resist the temptation...Can't we all?

But never mind. Hope you all get to read it before summer vacation ends. Good luck holding out 'til then!

I am so going to get it. Even if I have to wait forever at the book store! And it does come out on July 21, 2007, it was post to come out on July 7, but they change it.

Of course! I will be in line at B&N midnight.

Jules - I dreamed that too!

klondike you are not sad at all - everyone I'm going to midnight sale with is over 23! (one is 37!) actually most people I know who are way into HP are older.

I feel crummy about having to buy the book at a big chain retail - I know a lot of indie bookstores aren't selling the book because they can't profit and offer the deep, deep discounts walmart, B&N, amazon, etc are offering. (for the big chains, what happens is the books are "loss leaders" - retailers will actually lose money on the books, but they drive traffic to the store, and ultimately lead to more sales and profit. It's like a grocery store with cheap milk, basically - they lose on milk, but everyone needs it so they put it in the back and then people buy the rest of their groceries and grab extra things on the way to the back of the store for the cheap milk.) But.... I can't wait! I must have the book in my hand ASAP!

i am, midnight release of course. i am even throwing a harry potter dinner party on his birthday (july 31). that should give everyone ample time to read (and maybe reread) the book. then we can have great discussion while eating great harry potter food and having red/gold colored drinks. lol, dorky i know, but it should be pretty fun.

I'm breathlessly awaiting it. I read novels on audio and I'm patient enough to wait till a library copy becomes available. But I'll probably buy a ticket to see Order of the Phoenix.
