You sound like a caring and nice guy. What I would do is offer to work out with her, going to the gym, or maybe power walking together, bike riding after work, and also eat the same food she does so she will feel like she isn't alone. Cut your portions if she does. It really works. My husband lost about 8 lbs when I was on Weight Watchers a while ago, because he ate the same foods I ate. It was fun...and I was motivated to lose 15 lbs. See if this suggestion works.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

If and only if she has asked you for help should you verbally offer it to her. You can help motivate her by starting to eat healthier and exercise you self. Set aside time every day to walk or run together. I started to run with my dog, Toby. It helps me to stay motivated. It gives him the exercise he needs too. Make sure she knows that it is OK to take time out of the day for herself. That can be very hard for a woman. To just stop and take time. Help her to do that.

Ask her if she would like you to exercise with you. Take her bike riding. Try to take her out to eat that places that serve healthy foods, and let her see that you want to help her, without constantly saying things about the weight. Be supportive without making comments that suggest she might not be making progress, even if she isn't. Being supportive of whatever she needs to do this would probably be appreciated.

I wouldn't concentrate too much on the weight issue. But a girl really likes to hear how good she looks. And little surprizes not candy but flowers could help boost her ego.

Go walking with her every day, and then say positive things, like, "Those pants are really getting loose", or "All that walking is really defining your curves", or "I'm so glad you are walking with me. I really need the exercise, and I probably wouldn't keep up with it if you weren't here with me."

Join a gym together, walk together, eat better at home. Don't make her exercise alone, do it with her.
