Hi, I have preordered a Playstation 3 console along with Resistance: Fall of Man and Motorstorm for £499. I had really hoped to stick it on ebay and make a profit but am seriously thinking of cancelling my order now as most shops still seem to be taking pre-orders. By the way I only pre-ordered to try and recoup my losses from having to buy a wii off ebay and thought I could maybe make a bit of money - am not into dealing these! Anyway should I cancel or will I make a profit or not?

What you have to ask is....
How many people out there are having the same thoughts as you?
Sony are already charging Europe over inflated prices for the PS3 when compared to the US market. Ripped off as usual.
Word on the street is that Sony are worried about the European market because of the price and other consoles like the Wii and 360, which to be honest is just as good a machine without the blue ray.
Since it has taken so long for this machine, I think that most people will be quite prepared to wait till the price comes down and stick with other consoles until that happens

You probably won't make a lot of money on e-bay, Still you can always hold off on picking it up the first day and see what they actually go for. If the current price is any indication however you will make slim, if any profit.
My suggestion, just get the PS3 and keep it, I have both a wii and the PS3 and they're both excellent systems.

If it was me mate i'd cancel it. you only have to look at pre-ordered sales to know that sony are asking far to much for this console, and I can't see anyone spending 500 quid on a console they can get brand new from the shops on release date.
Saying that though there is always some mug that will buy something on e-bay. good luck

if they sell out in the shops you will make alot of money, but people are ignoreing the ps3 becasue of the wiis impact, so they are not selling like sony would have hoped.

i think if you trying to get one off ebay if some one is selling a ps3 they'll sell it more than they bought it for so i wouldnt bother and if some is selling less then dont bother buying it unless you trust them up to you at the end of the day
