I have an ipod nano and its suppose to hold 2 GB, and I only have about 140 songs on it and its already running out of room ,and I only put in a few pictures (about 15). It says that 1.01 GB is filled with "other" stuff ,but i have no idea what it is...
What do u think is wrong ?

It can actually hold UP TO 2GB. I have the same trouble with my mini (I get 914 out of 1000). You probably have a lot of longer songs that take up more space. Sorry, but unless you delete some songs, there isn't anything you can do.

aww this happened to a friend pics take up a TON of room!!
if u delete like 5 of ur pics im sure u will have alot more room on there!
if that doesnt work try to restart it.... something like hold down the play button then hit the "hold" switch.. i dont fully remeber, check on apple.com.
but i hope that helps!!!
good luck

there is a new upadate out but how much room are the pictures taking up? They could be the "ohter stuff" it depends on how you have your ipod set up and if you have all the album covers and song info on it it depends how much room you have it set on under your settings

"other stuff" could be things such as album art that take up space on your pod... 2 gigs won't do it for me... i'm a dj and i'm halfway thru filling up my second 60 gig ipod... try getting the 30 video player... its in color and great for pics and things like that...

it may be that you have enabled it for disk use and copied files on to it - that or the photos are huge?
