I went to Africa & I left from the West Coast...then had to catch Ethiopian airlines fro the East Coast...because of the time change from West to East then from East to Rome & Rome to Ethiopia itself it was a good 2 days...sorry I do not know the distance though...

pick a city on the east coast that you want the point to start and then where in Africa you want it to go to and go to mapquest!!!
