If he thinks he had diabetes, he needs to be checked NOW, insurance or no insurance. Maybe he has a pal who is diabetic who could check it for him. A friend of mine has been in the hospital for three months and lost most of his right foot because he ignored diabetes! I know someone else who went blind with it. It's serious stuff.
Some other possibilities in no particular order:
--Thyroid problems. No self-treatment works. See a doctor. It will only get worse.
--Sleep apnea. He would need to go to a sleep specialist for a diagnosis. Untreated, it can damage his heart.
--Depression. It's a real disease, not a moral weakness. Needs medical care.
--Stress/not sleeping enough. He might be able to take care of those on his own. Not so with true depression.
--Eye strain. When did he last have his glasses changed? This is an often overlooked cause of fatigue.
--Anemia. How's his diet? If he eats mostly junk food, try to get him to eat a balanced diet without too much meat. Add a multi vitamin like Centrum. But many causes of anemia are not diet related. Doctor needed.
--Serious stuff. Cancer, for instance. Congestive heart failure. Fatigue is an early symptom of hundreds of diseases. Some can be cured if they are treated EARLY.
Basically, fatigue is his body saying, "Hey, listen up--there's something wrong!!!" It's non-specific, and usually it takes some blood work to figure out what's happening. Have him eat better, sleep longer, and de-stress his life as much as he can. If that does not produce results in a couple of weeks, he MUST see a doctor.
Start saving now. It's more important than the other things he'll spend money on. Skip the movie and the nice restaurant and get him feeling good again. Borrow from relatives if there's no other way. His life could depend on getting help right away.

You can get test kit i your local drug store,to test for
diabetes. He could be working to hard or not getting sleep.
There are lot of reasons for tiredness. He needs to see a Dr..
Take him to ER they will run some test. They by law can't ask
for insurance till after he has seen a Dr..Hospital billing
can help him try to get MSI. This is throe SS.office.They will
pay your bill and possibly send you to follow up with outside Dr. who takes MSI. (Normal blod sugar level is 80-120)
I have diabetes 2 ,but is under control.Does he have any leg /feet pain ? Also try Vitamins.
Hope this helps.

He could have chronic fatigue syndrome- which is rare but possible. Make sure he gets enough rest, first of all. If he does not have insurance he should check with the local human services dept to see if he qualifies for government help.

1) Emotional...Depression or Epstein Bar Syndrome
2) Physical...Exhaustion, lack of sleep, burnt out, need a break.
3) Nutrition...not getting the proper diet
Maybe a combination...Google or Yahoo each one for help.
