When I got married, I became the most attractive man in town. Women who had ignored me forever suddenly wanted me. I was always the nice guy that you took a pass on while you pursued the "bad boy" on the motorcycle. Now he's in jail and I have a great job and own a home. The woman who wanted love and security over "adventure" landed me and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

But now every women who's been treated bad suddenly wants to find the "one that got away" and my phone is ringing off the hook. So what is wrong with you ladies? Is it a mental condition? And why now, after I'm already taken? I don't understand you at all!

Hmm... thanks for the many responses but some of you just don't get sarcasm and metaphor.

Do you really think that *I'M* under the impression that my looks improved when I got married? I simply mean that a lot of exes and women who wouldn't have anything to do with me are now coming out of the woodwork to find me.

And the phone isn't *literally* ringing off the hook - I just mean that they are contacting me. They see my wedding ring and approach me.

But it's nice to know that some of you can make a snap judgment about my sense of self worth through a Yahoo question. You should go into psychiatry!

It's b/c you have your life in order and are pursuing your dreams. When we're young - we don't want the nice guy - we want someone who takes risks and lives life on the edge. When we get older - we need the stability of a good man who knows what he wants out of life and gets it.

We're not that hard to understand, I swear.

All people, not just women, want what they can't have. But married men have shown that they are not afraid of commitment and that they have good partner skills and that they have the ability to adore one woman and be faithful to one woman. Usually those traits aren't apparent in the single guy.

I don't pursue married men as I am happily married to an attorney that travels and his hit on on a daily basis now that he wears a ring. When we were dating nobody hit on him. So the above info is what I have gathered from others that have the same problem and from one of the secretaries that admitted why she was intrested in him now and not then.

Your phone is not ringing off the hook. You are not the most attractive man in town. Maybe, just maybe 1 girl who dissed you in the past, is now interested in you. Oh, now I get it...the woman you hooked up with is a nice girl, but she's not attractive. Now you've discovered that someone you had the hots for in the past, who is better looking, may be interested.

Don't worry about the other girls. Just stay focused on the one that saw you for who you really were and don't buy into the girls tha are all over you now, but not to long a go looked at you as oh hes a bad boy stay away hes trouble. she (your wife) took the time to see the really you you should be so great full and I'm sure you probably are

It's human nature to want something that we don't have.Unfortunately you have become that epitome to some women that are in close proximity to you. It's hard to admitt that we may have made the biggest mistake of picking a total loser when we could've had someone who's the opposite. So,if I were you I'd tell those women to take a walk and your wife wouldn't appreciate it if she found out about the pathetic hungry women out there...Ciao!

I never chased a man that's been bad or not, but I think it all depend on what state your in right now. Here in Ca. we do our own thing or we are all friendly here, as far as I know though, and I will not call a man that I used to like that's already married cause that will start some dishonesty between man and wife......don't you agree??

I have to admit that I was one to chase the "bad boy" on the motorcycle but after several abusive relationships I have finally grown up and "landed" myself a "nice guy" and couldn't be happier. If I'd only known then what I know now...

People want what they can't have and some people make it their passion to try and achieve such. I myself would never go after a married man or one that was even seperated from his wife. It's not over till the divorce is final !!!!!!!! Sit back and enjoy knowing that you have a wife that you love and she returns that love. Not many married men appreciate their wives (my husband being one of them). I'm glad that you do !!

hmmmmm it would appear that you do not lack confidence (quite the opposite actually)...I would think that women who phone a married man and make advances are losers and are assuming you're the same and expect you to chear, so that would indicate you could perhaps be so absolutely fortunate that you have a caring wife who 'landed' you...I think you're probably the lucky one. And I would be worried if you understood the majority of us.

Not all women are that way because I happen to be married to one of you nice guys and our phone isn't ringing off the hook.
