Use a clean (sans serif) typeface on good quality paper for in-person/snail mail copies.

For e-copies, again use a clean typeface. Don't include photos, weird fonts that may not transfer well, or any info that can be used to discriminate against you (graduation dates, children's names, marital status, etc.)

Go to a job posting site like monster.com and use the resume writing program (free) that they provide. You can also check out what other people's resumes look like.

Keep it simple and short
most bosses have dozens of applications
to go through so give out brief discrips of
educaton
then job experience
include you name and contact numbers of course
dont include you sex ,age,nationality,or religious background
leave it as simple as posible
dont give out your social security number
if they hire you they will get that when youfill out w-4

Use active words and list specific (noteworthy) items that you accomplished.

example - Increased sales by 10% in the first quarter.
