light is 120 VAC element is 220 VAC light is not a for sure indicator that you have full power. If the element is not bad then it has to be the thermostat control unit but I would bet on the element.

I infer that the oven is electric rather than gas. Elements in such ovens fail occasionally; replacements are available at appliance parts stores for typically 20 to 30 dollars. The other common failure point is for the connection between the wire and the connector tab to fail; the wire burns through at the tab and separates. Crimping a new tab onto the wire will fix this; the wire must be carefully cleaned so that good electrical contact is made. The elements are usually held in place by two screws; remove the screws and pull the element out a little bit; then slide the connecting tabs off with a needle-nose pliers, and remove the element fully. Usually, a failed element will have a hole in it where the internal conductor has burned out; if you see such, take it to the appliance parts store and get a replacement. If it appears intact, check the resistance with an ohmmeter, there should be a few ohms resistance. If that checks, there may be a broken wire elsewhere, or the oven controller may have failed. These can be replaced, although it is something of a nuisance to do so.

Heating element. If it's electric. pilot light gas. If it's plugged in then I would say it's electric or has an electric pilot lighter. Not sure if that is the proper term. Find you owners manual. Thats going to help. Serial and model numbers are sometimes on the back. I also will say that if you didnt know any of this you should find a helpful friend because I fear a repair man is going to take you for a ride. Good luck!

Take out the element and turn on the oven. Using a voltmeter, check the connections where it plugged in. Got proper voltage, the element is bad. No voltage, probably the switch or the sensor which modulates temperature.

It sounds like an element is burned out. Sometimes just a wire burns off where the element plugs in. You would need to remove the back to check this. You will need an ohm meter to check the element. Also make sure you have the selector set to manual. Wiggle the knobs to make sure they are in the right position on the clock.

Have you checked the two fuses that are in the oven circuit? There will be a removable panel with fuses behind it. If the fuses are OK then follow the instructions above. There will be two fuses for the oven element. They should be labeled. If only one fuse is blown then you will still see the lights.

If it's electric...sounds like the heating element is bad. If it's gas better open a window because your pilot light is out and needs re-lit.

Had the same problem with my ex-wife. I couldn't figure out her malfunctioning parts. Just trade it in. You'll get a better model that warms up faster!
