I think Bush supporters are finished trying to find a rationale to the war. They have exhausted every possibility and have pushed the limits of reason to the very extent that even they, as anti-intellectual as they are, can no longer stomach the kind of lies they have to come up with. You see patterns of backlash among even the most loyal of Bush supporters in talk radio and on TV. The conservative community is enduring a sort of schizophrenia. They don’t know which way to turn. They cannot support a President who is so patently wrong, mendacious, and who has betrayed his own conservative base, and yet at the same time they cannot bring themselves to align themselves with liberals, even on points where the liberals make obvious sense.

Right now all they can do is bite the bullet, and merely state that since we are over there we might as well finish the job. Even this so called “reasoning” isn’t all that convincing. I would laugh at the conservative plight, but the quagmire we face in Iraq affects us all, whether we are conservative or liberal.

Christin's answer is so factually incorrect and silly, I can no longer think clearly. But I think the answer may be to nuke them as ingrates. Don't put it past Bush

Actually, the Kurds of Northern Iraq did ask for US intervention when Saddam was gassing their people with mustard gas and testing his chemical/biological weapons on them. Then president Clinton ignored their pleas.
