I have some bad news for you, your old ankle injury will probably not completely heal itself back to normal. You will have this condition for the rest of your life. Don't worry all is not lost. Buy yourself a magnetic necklace and come bedtime wrap it around the bad part of your ankle. Then put a big loose sock over top of it. It should reduce the swelling as well as the pain.

I was wrestling and I torn my tendons as well. I went to the hospital and they weren't helpful at all. My suggestions (as what worked for me) Go to a pool and do toe raises in the pool. The water supports most of your weight so you can start in deeper water and then go shallow as your ankles are able to withstand more pressure and weight on them. Don't overdue anything though, if you try to you can injure yourself even worse when your body is trying to heal. Also do stretching exercises, such as sitting down point your toes away from you, pull them towards you, roll your ankle clockwise, then counter-clockwise.

Good Luck,
