Hi

The old ones are the best but they will have been heavily mistreated and will probably be in need of an overhaul.

If you buy an old one you need to make sure it has a fully comprehensive service history, including cambelts, and a full MOT, and you want the emissions read out so you can see whats coming out of the exhaust.

Be careful!!

Yes it's ok to drive an older one! The older ones look sooo much better - Maybe not so safe if/when you put it round a tree but the looks are so much better than the newer ones - I'm talking about the 1997 looking models. If you looking at one of the 2 doors versions, they're very nice - I'll have a P1 anyday

My '98 Impreza 2.5 RS is from the first cars based on the race car, and it came with everything, free. Now..., if you want a sunroof, spoiler, the hood with the vents on the sides, the fog lamps, etc., you have to pay more for it. Also, mine looks more like a race car with 2 doors, not 4 (like a sedan). So, I'm glad I have the Impreza, that my husband bought for my birthday, in 1998.
Oh, And it's kept up too, by me. So, It still looks new.

Old's Cool. Can't beat a classic Mk1 Impreza Turbo. '97-'00 for the best mix.

Personally I liked the older subaru's that were actually 4WD not AWD. But that's me, some people are lazy and don't want to have to pull a lever or push a button for 4WD, myself I'd rather have to mechanically put my vehicle into 4WD. The older Subaru's were easy to work on, and not as electronic as the new ones are.

A good classic shape example is better than the the bug eye models but more recent versions look nice and are better built. Watch it hasnt been abused.

Either are nice. I have a 93 Legacy. I would love a new one if I could afford it but this 93 is still driving alright.

personally, i reckon the older ones look better, although you can virtually guarantee an older one will have been mistreated, and will probably be needing a new turbo, wheras a new one wont have had chance and you can mistreat it yourself instead. Still, old one for me, i'd feel less guilty when i wrapped it around a tree

Old is best!!!!
They look much sexier than the newer ones (gone all middle-aged and heavy looking)
Get a classic Impreza!!!
