I had 80 dollars left and a really go friend needed to pay a phone bill, I gave her 60 (not loaned, loans to friends never turn out well). I would have given my last penny because I know that her phone is her link to the world and it was a link to me. If I had to sell something to help a friend, I would. I would sell every possession I owned for a few friends, because their friendship and happiness are some of the most important things in my life. I know I can always get new stuff, but new friends, real, honest and caring friends would do the same for me. Friends are everywhere and I wouldn't do it for anyone, just those friends that are real friends.

Yes I've put myself out to help someone more than once. Would like to be treated in the same manner. How could I now help?

I have a few mates who are jobless, stuck in a rut or whatever. They moan and moan about it, but will do nothing about it - or even consider other possibilities. I have tried to help them so many times, even if it's just making them feel better and getting them fired up about doing things as there are so many opportunities. It just annoys me when they ask me, then throw it back in my face and keep moaning about it! Obstacles are to be overcome, not block your way! Rant over. Feel better now! lol :-P Have you?

Yes, tried to help an ex partner who had manic depression compounded by chronic alcholism...stuck at it for nearly 3 years, then had to call it a day because it started to drag me down too.
