As a non-native speaker of English, I don't feel good about people use a lot of slang and jargon when they talk to me.

Also, It irritates me a lot when I watch a TV programs or a film, and come across the scene where other native speakers of English laugh leaving me behind being ostracised, as I cannot catch the puns or jokes.

I hate abbreviations such as

kk
kl
wubu2
rotflmfao

I don't hate people that say something wrongly. only the above on msn. You got to remember some people speak english as a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th language. And stuff gets lost in translation. If you can at least make sense of it you should be thankful they are communinacating with you.

Unless you do not want to speak to them.... :p

rotflmfao

^^ See how annoying that is!

Apostrophe mis-use, and people not speaking properly by leaving out the T is the work - i.e when saying butter and better etc. Oh yes, and fought and fink, instead of thought and think (is that just this Manchester area?)

Anyone who speaks with glottal stops - especially presenters on TV/radio, they should all be sacked.
I really want to scream every time I hear that song by Regina Spektor when she sings "be'er" instead of "better".
Lily Allen is just as bad.

And people mixing up 'bought' and 'brought'.

Double negatives, for example, "He didn't do nothing."

Also I hate it when people start their sentences with, "Basically..." when it adds no meaning to what they're saying. This is a word people use to try and sound more intelligent than they really are.

I hate it when people say "ideal" when they mean "idea", "pacific" when they mean "specific", and stuff like that.
Neurotic much? (Do you hate that? You know, when people put an adjective in front of "much"?)
Umm... so...I'm all like, "bluh, whatever" and she's all like, "monkeybum," and... so... um.. like, and then like, you know, and know what I'm sayin', you know? YOU KNOW?!
