I will cook all your meals for you in exchange for crashing there for friday and saturday night. Or if you want to come to Ottawa, you can exchange house for 2 nights.
Please, no rapists/killers.

Montreal is a liberal city, but not THAT liberal. Just like you ask for no rapists and killers, the people here are probably just as nervous about inviting a total stranger into their home.

My suggestion would be to look at the Montreal YMCA and ask if they know of any youth hostels or if they have rooms for the two nights.

There are also some inexpensive motels that are in town, they are not the greatest but they are cheap and should be pretty clean. I have not personally tried these myself, but drive by them daily and they look well maintained. They are all close to shopping, lots of parking, and there is the Bus # 90 that you can catch on St. Jacques Road that takes you all the way to Vendome subway station, which will then take you all around town.
