Hi, I lost the W-2 copies that my employer sent me, but I do happen to still have a photocopy of it. Can I use this to submit for filing federal taxes or do I need to request the original again? Please help. thanks!

The photocopy should be OK but do make another copy for yourself. Remember: the IRS already knows how much you made in most cases (i.e. your employer reported it) and sending in that stupid W-2 is really just a formality. For example, if you worked two jobs and forgot about the first one and sent the second W-2 and figured your taxes with that second W-2 the IRS would "correct" your mistake for you and adjust your refund/payment accordingly.

You can use the photocopy without any problems.
