If I were to frame a question I would not personally say "Gay adoption" as if it were a single group and that they "gay" aspect and the "adoption" aspect were somehow closely related aside from politically. For this reason I'll say that I can list 3 reasons for humans adopting humans:

1. In place of giving birth to children oneself, one could adopt to help curb over population.

2. It could be very healthy for children to have a family, a home, and gaurdians to love them. Hopefully adoption can grant them this.

3. There are many under-funded orphanages that are over crowded which could place emotional strain on the children residing in them. Adoption could help alleviate some of the problems that can arise from over-crowding in orphanages.
