If you are so worried about un-wanted babies being born, why cant we force birth control on people?

I actually agree with you. If someone wants to be on welfare and cannot support what they have, why can't the family courts order mandatory birth control?

Its much cheaper and easier on the body than an abortion and does not leave scarring or emotional issues related to an abortion. Plus we are not killing a little baby because someone is too lazy to put on a condom.

To the person earlier who responded about the rape abortion. According to Time Magazine, only 1.5% of all abortions are rape related. So its a very low number and very few people are against this. The remainder of the 98.5 of the abortions are done because "a baby would change my life" or "I am not ready for it. If you are mature enough to take off your pants and spread your legs, you need to use birth control or don't have sex.

Why we are at it, why don't we make the welfare recipients show up to a county office, put on a orange community service vest, and make them pick up garbage along side the roads or clean up brush to earn their money instead of sitting back and collecting tax money for doing nothing.

To borrow a line from the pro-abortion crowd - its my wallet, so it should be my choice on how it should be spent.

in many ways I hate answering these questions because there are many people who will give you a bad rating b/c they don't agree with the way you think or email you and tell you off for what you said....However, I do believe that everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
You can't force birth control on people for one main reason, not everybody will abide by those rules. Take a look at drinking underage. The law says you have to be a certain age depending on where you live and yet there are always people drinking who are not legally able to. And driving, yeah, how many kids do you hear about going for joy rides?? Those are the kids who are not always legally able to drive but they do.
Now, not everybody has $30 on average a month to give their daughter so she can get birth control pills starting at 10 years old. For starters that can mess up a body starting them that young, but you can't say for every female 16 and older as I've seen on here and heard in the new about kids who are 12-15 having babies of their own... now how are you going to stop those girls?? And what about the guys?? If pills are a girls "forced" option then you had better be supplying ever man with at least 5 condoms per week cause lord knows somebody is gonna need 'em...and what about those little ones, you know the ones, the 12-15 year olds who don't carry wallets yet, where are they gonna stash 'em?? Back packs?? I don't see that happening. On top of that, how many guys do you know who know to use condoms who actually do?? If every guy used 'em no raped female would end up pregnant now would they? Perhaps the way to do it would be to strap on a condom to a guys penis so he could never take it off and have every glass of juice or milk laced with birth control pills that way you'd be insuring no unwanted kids would ever happen...but then what happens when you want to start a family?? Or what happens when the parents lose their jobs and are living on welfare and can barely buy a loaf of bread and container of milk for the family... how do they pay for this birth control supply for both their son and daughter??

I'm not saying I support abortions nor am I against them, but I do think there comes a time when a female who's pregnant decides she can't deal with a baby or never wanted it in the first place... why would some girl who was raped and got pregnant from it want to keep that kid?? I look at it and say if that was me, I'd resent that kid knowing every day of my life until that kid died or I did that it would be a constant reminder of something that was out of my control that hurt me.

We live in a world today where we have choices, we have freedom to decide what happens with our lives. We know if we don't use protection of some sort when we have sex we risk getting pregnant and/or catching a disease, but it's a risk we take, whether it's because we're drunk, high, or just don't give a f^ck....it's a decision we make willingly on some level and if something results from it then it's something we have to live with....Some may choose to have an abortion, some may choose to carry to term then give it up for adoption while others will keep it and struggle to make ends meet while raising the child either alone or with the man who helped create it. Life is about choices and you have to realize that with every choice you make in life there could be a consequence. That's why you shouldn't have sex until you're mature enough to realize that and accept that and know that you could have to take responsibility for another living thing in 9 months if you don't use protection.

That's all I have to say.

I love the people who blather about not having the right to control the bodies of others. It appears they lack control themselves, since they are either too stupid to figure out what causes pregnancies or confused on how to prevent them. If you "accidentally" get pregnant and require an abortion, you've shown you're too stupid to be given a "choice" and that they need to be made for you.

You're mature enough to lay on your back and spread your legs, but not mature enough to deal with the ramifications of your decision to do so. Shows a lack of responsibility.

Because Bush has resorted to an "abstinence-only" sex education agenda, which has proven to lead to more unwanted pregnancies because no one knows what the benefits of other birth control are and therefore never have it when they finally break down and start having sex.

If I could have my way, birth control would be a free, government supported project that's available to everyone.

First of all, no one is 'pro-abortion'. Second of all, we don't force abortion on people, why would we force people to take birth control. Why do you people always want to force women into giving up their freedom of their own body for Christs sake. My god, there is lineage of fascism and fascist tendencies in this country. Just Educate people when they are young and all the way through high school and you will see a dramatic drop in the abortion rates. It's really that simple.

when 13 year olds get raped, they should not be forced to have that baby. end. of. story.

PS nobody is a "pro-abortioner". they are "pro-CHOICE"

the gov. should NOT be allowed to tell ppl what to do with their bodies.

I don't know what that word you made up means, but as a conservative, you can't force people to have babies, or not have babies, because that isn't the job of the govt. China does that sort of stuff...make you have abortions, then make you have babies.

Even communist China had problems with that tactic. BTW, it's not pro-abortion, it's pro-choice. Try to keep up.
