if the baby is very large like my last one was( 8lbs. 7 oz.) will the doctor induce a week or 2 early so the baby isn't so large. i'm 5'1 and very petite and well it was pretty tough getting a baby of this size to come out of me, they even said after his birth i should have been given a c section. i don't want to go through another 24 hour labor and 2 hours of pushing and am scared to death of it happening again. will they do a c section if i ask or at least induce me or strip my membranes around 38 weeks so the baby don't weigh quite so much??

they- yeah the nurses said i never should have been allowed to lay there in labor for that long and the baby popping in and out when i would stop pushing. they said most doctors would have done a c section and even prepped a room for me but the doctor just let me lay there for 26 hours.

If you talk to your doctor he might just do it if your baby is that big. Doctors usually wont induce you unless theres a specific reason but he probably will since your baby is so big!
If he deosnt think theres a health risk and thinks you should wait you can still go to the hospital and ask to be induced. it would just have to be written down that you asked for it because there are some risks of inducing you early. one of which is the possability of c section. you can call your hospital and ask more about it and if they have room for someone that just wants to come in and be induced. But ask your doctor if he will do it first!
Good luck.

They will only do a c-section if the baby is too large for your size dimensions or if the baby is in danger. Same as for inducing your labor. They can measure baby's size using an ultrasound. Who was they? The labor nurses? It all depends on your doctor's opinion. My first baby was 9lbs 2oz. I also pushed for 2 hours. I thought for sure my 2nd would be even bigger, but she was 7lbs. 7oz. Third was 7lbs. 14oz. All babies are different and this one may not be as large or larger. Your muscles have already been stretched from the first labor, so pushing should not take as long. It all depends!

8lbs 7 oz is not a big baby at all...talk to the Dr...a baby is considered full term at 38 weeks. I was induced at 39 weeks.

I am 4 feet 11 inches and I had a 9 lb baby at 42 weeks.... I begged him to induce me but he said its better for the baby to stay in as long as they need to be.... I wasnt happy... I hope the best for you but I dont think the dr will force the baby out unless there are issues.

It's going to depend on your OBGYN. Some are hardcore believers in not inducing until after 40 weeks. My OB induced me all 3 times (for medical reasons) at 36, 37 & 38 weeks. So it depends totally on your OB.
Ask! Make sure you voice your concerns.

This is something that you should discuss with your doctor. Babies do a lot of final developing in the last few weeks and, as I said, only you and your doctor can make a right decision for you and your baby.

Talk with your doctor, let him know your concerns. I am sure he would be happy to induce you, you really don't want a c sections unless absolutely necessary, ( I have had 2, would rather have natural birth, which I have done too)

Yes they can do that. All you have to do is discuss it with your doctor and tell them your concerns. Most hospitals allow induction at 38 weeks. Some want to wait until 39. But it doesnt hurt to ask.

You can ask, but probably not. It isn't good for teh baby to be born if he/she isn't ready. At the most they will do a week early.
Had my second via scheduled C-section 1 week early. She was 6 lbs 15 oz.
