Love is when you deeply care about the happiness and overall well-being of another. Lust is caring only for your own gratification. Love is selfless. Lust is selfish.

I've often thought that the difference between love and lust illustrates an important difference between men and women. Women give love and, if they are fortunate, discover lust. Men give lust and, if they are fortunate, discover love.

Love is when you know the worst thing about a person, all their faults and misgivings, and that to you is still o.k. It is having your husband wreck the car because he was driving with his knees and you still love him. It is seeing someone at their worst and still wanting to be with that person more than anyone else in the world. Lust...is temporary.
