I'm graduating from college in two months (I doubled majored in HR and Management) and I have this offer to consider after graduation. It's close to my home, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, as a document custodian. Is it worth it?

I live in Puerto Rico
I'll live with my parents because it's 5 minutes away from my parent's home. I won't have to pay rent.

First, put together a Resume and send it out to all the companies You are interested in. After that, check with friends and family, if not contact others who work in similar jobs, and ask what they think on the pay for a recent college Grad.
1200 a month is not a lot if you check into other jobs on the market.
Many students make at least $2000 a month, getting paid $10 per hour, 40 hours a week.
If you can, contact the company, and ask to meet with them, bringing along a list of questions you want to ask.
Do not disregard your abilities. You have HR and Mangement exp. Think about what you have learned, what you can do, then present such abilities and talents, along with what they expect and see if they recalculate your pay to a different range.
Also, be sure to check with you college's career-services. They should help you out in many other ways, along with what I suggested.

It depends on whether or not you can live beneath the poverty line. As long as your not owning a house or renting, paying bills, over 720 a month you could do it, but it would be an extremely right budget. You'd only make 14400 a year and large chunks of it would go to housing yourself and it would depend on what your graduating from. If your answer is high school this is a pretty decent job for someone with only a HS degree. If your graduating a two year you should be making at least 20,000 and if you've graduated a four year you should be making anywhere from 32-50,000.

What are your graduating from? High School? $1,200 per month is not a lot. What is the minimum wage in your state?? If the hours are 8-4:30 that is full time which ends up being $6.92/hr using 40 hours a week (considering the extra 1/2 hour is an unpaid lunch). In my state minimum wage is $7.15/hr.

If you have a degree in HR and management I say $1,200 per month is not acceptable.

Document custodian is a file clerk.
That would be good money for a file clerk with no other work experience.

Temporarily, yes, until I get something else, and I'll surely be searching for jobs like crazy.

But I'm not staying more than a few months with that kind of salary for my college degree. Nope.

no, i wouldnt. if you do the math, it is really only 14,400 a year. that is not alot. i would look through the classifieds in your local newspaper, or online for something that pays more. it may be a little farther away, but if it pays more go for it. i would only take this job if i was really desperate, or if it was the last thing around. hey, at least its some money, right?
well good luck in your job search.

I depends on your location, and whether this job is a stepping stone for better. I live in boston, and I know I would never be able to live off of that. Double that is even to little. But it is up to you.

Graduating from high school - sure. Graduating from college - only if you are desperate. This is a poverty-level wage. You can probably do better. Where are you located?

If you have no other offers, take it and continue to look elsewhere. At least you will have some income.

For a college grad. this salary is not acceptable.
