Kearns is a low tier outfielder and Gagne is coming back from surgery and is an injury risk. I would actually do the trade if you are able to pick up or have another outfielder that is comparable to Kearns(which should be plenty). Gagne could be a stud and I would pick him up considering that Otsuka could be traded before the season starts and Gagne would be the closer. Saves are hard to find and outfielders are a dime a dozen.

Considering your team needs RP it is a pretty solid trade to make. It is a gamble to pick up Gagne but so far the reports are that he is pitching well and has his velocity back and if that is the case there is little doubt he gets the closer job for the Rangers. Kearns is a fringe fantasy producer so even if Gagne doesnt pan out there will be better options available than Kearns anyways. Plus he has to play this full season in the grand canyon of all major league parks so a few of those homeruns he hit in the past will become doubles this year. It is a low risk, high reward type deal so go for it!

YES. Make the trade!

You have decent outfield depth and your RP's really need some help, especially with Wainright moving to SP. Gagne should have a decent year, he says he's feeling good and he hasnt pitched bad so far. The Rangers pitching staff should have quite a bit of run support resulting in wins and saves. Kearns on the other hand is a risk and he wont do anything playing for the Nationals. Gagne would be a nice addition, to say the least, to add to your team.

Absolutely. Gagne gets first crack at closre duties. And Kearns will likely spend all year riding the pine given your lot of OF and Util.

Easy trade to make. Sure, Gagne may lose the job at some point and is a risk, but you're not paying much in Kearns. He strikes me as a load of potential that will never quite make it.

Yes, Kearns isn't that great, Gagne is a closer for now, I'd do that in an instant.

Go for it, b/c if Gagne becomes healthy and dominate again, he is one of the best closers in baseball.

I would do it. It doesn't hurt to have a setup man in your pitching staff.
