I am blond, and I am fairly intellegent. Every time I make a mistake or say something that doesn't make sense, people make fun of me for being blond. I have noticed that there are other people far more ditzier than I am, that aren't blond and no one makes fun of them. I always wondered where that stereotype comes from. Usually I just laugh and use being blond as an excuse but sometimes it's actually hurtful.

like you say is an stereotype, and some blonds make the effort to keep it that way. if you are not one of them that's good someone always has to try to shine for their own merits. I'm Latin and we have an stereotype too everyone thinks we look like Jennifer lopes which is not true or that we all dance like shakira (another lie) so don't be concerned about those things and always be you that's what matters in the end not the color of your hair.

Just ignore it. Everybody knows that it is a huge, dumb stereotype. Most of the time they just say it to be funny. My best friend is blonde and she hates it when people say that. I think its about time the dumb blonde stuff goes out of style because its pretty stupid that people think the color of their hair has anything to do with their intelligance.

I think it came from back in the Marilyn Monroe days, but I'm not sure. Don't let it bother you, the only dumb people are the ones dumb enough to stereotype. I'm blond and big boobed and get a kick out of the look on peoples' faces when they realize that I'm much smarter than them.
