If a new soap was in the works and the main characters were a black family and the show consisted of other minority races, would you tune in? I'm just wondering cause even though daytime has been better about black/minority character, there is still work to be done. I don't think the networks or TPTB think black/minority characters can lead a story. What do you think?

Well yes, OLTL has a pretty good mixture of charcarter. I wish they would explore Nora's Jewish background more. And the do have the Vegas. AMC got rid off all the blacks. Passions, Days and Y&R are doing very well. ATWT was too for a while back in 2001/2002. I started watching that show because of teh story with Jessica/Marshall/Ben/Issac and Bonnie. But they have fallen off too. I just want to see a more diverse cast on these shows...like real life.

They tried this back in the 90's with a show called Generations - 2 core families, 1 white, 1 black, didn't work. But it was a good soap.

OLTL is full of blacks. And there are several on AMC too. I don't think there should be a soap with ALL blacks or ALL whites or ALL Asian - or whatever. The mix is good.

Yes, that was already tried. The show Generations as good but it had low ratings. Kristoff St. John was one of the characters on that show.

sure I would. I only watch Day's and if the story lines were interesting I would check it out. There is always room for improvement in everything.

I would guess that PVU would probably have a Hillel house being so close to NY City.

If it's like the Cosby show and well written, I'd watch it.
